Mecano for adults

Shelving system MECCANO FOR ADULTS is a research for adjustable designs, produced from a mix of crafted structures and found materials. The hybridation of ressources is an ongoing challenge at Stromboli, motivated by finding new solutions/recipees for more fun and more responsable designs.
MECCANO FOR ADULTS isobviously thought as a very playfull piece of furniture to create and built. On this prototype version, aluminium tubes and metal grid are assembled with bike fixing screws. The whole structure has been sized following on the 9 panels of recuperated mirrors. As the research continues, we would like to join both recuperation of used materials with a grid building system customed to it. We also imagine that simple 3D interface could allow any-one to create and order his/her own shelving system in accordance to his/her found materials.
